If you have observed, most kids love to use the upper level of a bunk bed for most of the activities such as sleeping, reading, playing games or even eating. The upper level bed is connected to the ground with a simple metal ladder.
This is a great idea and a way to utilize the space in. This type arrangement works great where a family has just one child. In a metal loft bunk bed instead of using two single twin sized beds on top of one another, the lower bed is raised in the upper level and the lower level bed is completely missing. The lower level consists of a study table, a computer workstation or a simple storage for toys, books or even small sized clothes. So to make good utilization of space it is completely removed and replaced with a study table with a small chair or a small storage cabinet.
The upper level bed also has safety railing running all across the periphery for the child's safety. This is because it is a thrilling experience for the smaller kids to be on top of every other person in the home and grab attention. This sometimes makes the lower level bed empty most of the times. |
